... and next destination is... Ladakh / India

So, two more days. And I'll be off again. After long six months again on the road. This time to northern part of India, to a mystery land called Ladakh.

Ladakh is a special place. Bounded by two of the world's mightiest mountain ranges, the Great Himalaya in the south and the Karakoram in the north it liest athwart two other, the Ladakh range and the Zanskar range.

Because of the Great Himalaya barrier in the south Ladakh is sheltered from the rain-bearing clouds of the Indian monsoon and is today a high-altitude desert.

So, whats the plan. This time trip will be a bit more strenuous. Goal is to a 1o-11 days trekking. At the beginning i will fly to Delhi and then on to Leh at 3500m above see level. And then back on the ground to Delhi, crossing the Zanskar and the Great Himalayan range.

After a few days of acclimatisation to the high altitude trekking will begin. Before getting back to a road, we will cross some high passes, with Gongmaru la (5.100m) and Zalung Karpo La (5.050m) right in the heart of the Zanskar range mountains from the village of Sumda towards the valley of the river Tsarap.

It should be interesting. It should be difficult. And i will probably be able to clear my head :)
